With over 13 years of experience in strategic recruitment with emerging software organizations in the greater Boston area and beyond, Kate is a trusted resource to clients and candidates alike. Kate is passionate about being a career matchmaker and believes there is no better feeling than helping people find their dream job. With her finger on the pulse of Boston’s dynamic SaaS market, she is known for building high-performing sales teams with top industry leaders. Kate has forged partnerships with numerous companies in their early stages, helping them navigate the path to success long before they became widely known.
During her career in recruitment, Kate has generated over $6M+ in revenue. Additionally, she has built an extensive list of SaaS clients, ranging from early-stage startups to publicly traded Fortune 100, 500, and 1000 organizations. She has advised various European SaaS companies with strategies to break into the Boston market and expand their presence across the United States.
Kate earned her degree in Sociology and Business while attending the University of Rhode Island. Go Rams! Outside of work, you can usually find Kate at her 2nd job – chauffeuring her kids to all their sports practices, activities, and games. She also loves to unwind at the beach, on a boat, or doing yoga.

After graduating from the University of Connecticut, School of Business in 2010, Margaret began her career in sales at start-ups, discovering her affinity for the energy of growing companies. In 2013, while seeking her next opportunity, Margaret found her career path and future business partner, Kate Merrill, solidifying their inseparable partnership long before founding Emerald Edge Consulting.
Driven by the relationships she cultivated with sales professionals and hiring teams during her 10+ years in recruiting, Margaret's desire to make a positive impact led her to establish Emerald Edge. Specializing in the software sales space, Margaret thrives on engaging with diverse professionals daily, always prioritizing the long game by offering honest advice, market insights, and actionable steps to aid candidates in their job searches. Rather than focusing on meeting quotas, she prioritizes finding the right match for candidates and clients, resulting in long-term employment success and valuable referrals.
Outside of work, you can often find Margaret at home, engrossed in a puzzle alongside her 5-year-old son and 6-year-old chocolate lab (her Irish twins), or enjoying time in the sand, whether it's on the beach or in a bunker on the golf course.
